Cool prams?

Mrs Biggles is due to drop one in September so the pram hunt has started. We’re after something a but cool but lightweight too, been looking at iCandy ones which look good but are fairly heavy (my missus has arms like pipe cleaners). I thought the dearer ones would be carbon fibre or titanium but they aren’t (apart from a Porsche one that nobody seems to know the price of). Does anyone know of a good quality lightweight one that looks good too? Cheers:thumbsup:

Just carried out a VANOS test

As above I have just tested my VANOS I was surprised to see that it told me I must replace the vanos solenoid valve set and check the vanos pressure relief valve. So what is the pressure relief valve and where isit and how does one check it. What is Is the vanos solenoid valve set? Is it the box that beisan recondition in the states?? What I am confused about is that the car pulls 100% and never should any warning lights! I just decided to plug it in for ****s and giggles:rolleyes: Should I run the test again to be sure or is the system VANOS test never wrong? Is there anything physically wrong that I could see by looking at the VANOS unit?? Thanks people:thumbsup:

530d, wornout M sport suspension, what to buy

Hi there. I see that the 530d is much more popular here than in Iceland so I decided to ask you guys. Since I changed almost every bushing in the car (except the strut/shock top mount) and It´s still knocking on every bump I´ve decided to buy new top mounts and springs and shocks n struts. Are the top mounts the same in M sport and the regular non dsp? Is there anything else i should consder buying? I will go for the original M sport suspension springs and struts and shocks the things that are new so far are the control and the trailing arms front and rear suspension, stabilizers, guiding links. But still íts knocking on every bump.

Need An MOT. If It FAILS Will Current MOT Be Valid

Got a 318i that i’m selling, car MOT runs out on June 19 2012. I can present it for a MOT from yesterday to preserve the anniversary. What I wanted to do was put a fresh 12 months MOT on it starting today, but the engine emissions light it on so may not pass. Assuming it fails, can I rip up the certificate and keep the current one which is still valid for a month, or will the new MOT automatically render the car as failed on the database?

2011 550i Rear Entertainment – Which Wireless Headphones?

Do I have to use/buy the BMW wireless headphones for my rear entertainment system? There seem to be many infrared wireless headphone options out there that are better quality for much less money. Has anyone tried non-BMW headphones? Results?

Rear Brake Pads ~ help

Hi Guys I have 6 weeks ago taken “the plunge” and have bought myself a ’56 E60 (530d). The car came with 12 months MOT but I was aware that the rear pads needed doing in 1000miles. That time is now on me and I have called up Coopers of Sunderland (BMW Dealer) who have quoted me £206. Now while I could go ahead with that (is that about right?); I have a couple of questions for you experts please; 1) If I were to go to an indepenant BMW Specialist, would that re set my dashboard messages “Rear Brakes need replacing”. 2) Does anyone have any “preferred” BMW specialist that they use (in and around Sundelrand SR3). Thanks in anticipation Stew

Steering problem

I think I may have a problem with my steering although I’m not 100% sure as it just sailed through its MOT about 5 weeks ago. Basically when driving the car seems to wander when going into ruts on the road. Its not really bad although you can notice it. I jacked the car up this morning and got a mate to check for play in the steering whilst I was under looking at the track rod ends and so on. Both the track rod ends looked fine, balljoints all ok too although there was play when wobbling the N/S wheel. Looking at it the other wheel was moving to which to me looked as though the movement was going through the steering rack to the other wheel which was fine. But when I locked the steering wheel and held it really tight so it wouldn’t move, the play was still there at the N/S wheel, nothing major but definately a bit of play. I’m thinking there could be a problem at the top side of the steering rack where the steering column goes into the rack or maybe even the column itself although the u/j on the column looked ok. Hope this all made sense lol, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
